Creating a Tribute Fund in support of Ovarian Cancer Action is a lasting way to celebrate the courage and strength of a woman touched by ovarian cancer.
Married in 1957 to our dear Dad, Raymond, (a D-Day Veteran). A classic case of the Guide Captain marrying the Scout Master! Joan was a teacher all her working life, eventually becoming Deputy Head of a large Primary School in South London.
Mum sadly lost her 7 yr battle with ovarian cancer on 31/12/2009.
On Saturday 24th April 2010 we had a tree planting ceremony for family and close friends at Weldbank Church at midday, followed by a walk around Rivington.
We had another walk on 2nd April 2011 starting at the Lower Barn at Rivington.
I created this Tribute Fund in memory of one of the most awesome people I've ever met, and I'm sure I ever will meet - my grandmother, Maureen John. I'm proud to be able to raise money in tribute to her, in particular because she shaped my life so much.
My Mam - Simply The Best.
My Mam died on the 26th January 2008 at the age of 55, 3 weeks after being diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. My Mam was the life and soul of any party, loved her life and her 3 Children but unfortunately won't get to meet her first grandchild - Megan Lily - as I was actually pregnant at the time.
This tribute fund is dedicated to our mum, Mary, who sadly died on 24th June, 2009. Mum was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She was a fantastic mum, granny and sister as well as a very dear friend to many. As well as her caring nature she was well known for her loud laugh which was heard wherever she went.
Sue was a loving warm lady who had great compassion. She was a hero to us all by her strength when her beloved Mike died and then battling cancer of the thyroid- her sense of humour never went even when she started her final battle with ovarian cancer.
Michelle peacefully passed away on the 20th October 2009. Michelle's death was sudden and was a tragic end to a wonderful person's life.
Michelle was a devoted wife to Wan and a wonderful mother to Thomas and Daniel, all of whom will miss her greatly.
Michelle was a fun loving person with a passion for all the good things in life....

My mother passed away peacefully, at home, on June 13 2009 with both Brev and I at her side. She had a brief battle with an all too aggressive cancer. Her death was a shock to everyone. She was only 63.
Mum was born, on the 4th of February, 1946 and grew up in Winnetka, Illinois.
Always a smile, instead of a frown,
Always a hand, when one is down,
Always true, thoughtful and kind,
Wonderful memories she left behind.
Julie was our kind hearted, beautiful, generous sister and she passed away on 22nd September 2009 at the age of just 45 after battling ovarian cancer for 16 months.
On 22nd November 2008 Jill Spires passed away. We lost a wonderful mother and grandmother and everyone that knew her lost a good friend. She was a great inspiration to those that met her, especially when they became aware of her very positive attitude towards the health problems that burdened her for many years.
Ruthie was our dear sister. She will be loved and missed by so many forever.
As Ruth requested all her clothes be sold with proceeds for charity it seems only right to ensure that we all do as much as we can you prevent this tragedy from affecting other families, and also to honour Ruth's wishes.
Jackie was the true Disney Princess....she was full of magic, fun, spirit, sparkle and laughter. May her Tinkerbell wings be on to guide her on her way and may she leave magic disney dust as she travels.....I love you Jackie....Liz

Linda Rice, formerly Linda Binns, was a beautiful lady who brought joy into the lives of those who came in contact with her. All her family still miss her terribly but we also feel incredibly priveleged to have known and loved her, and want to live our lives to the full in her memory. That is the gift she left us. God bless you Linda.
My wife Margaret lost her battle with ovarian cancer, at the age of 62, on the 20th June 2007. She was a super lady. She fought the disease with much courage and fortitude.
My Nanna was so precious to us all. She was called Rose Mary Wiggins and was 52 years of age when she passed away to cancer in 1991. She was very prietty, with pale white skin and lovely brown wavy hair, with a suttle irish accent.
